Anti-Infective Research Lab (ARL)

The Anti-Infective Research Laboratory (ARL) is a 1460-square-foot academic research facility dedicated to the study of antimicrobial pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and resistance issues. Our mission is to investigate and apply optimal antimicrobial therapeutic approaches which will significantly impact the treatment of multi-drug resistant organisms and minimize the further development of resistance. The laboratory performs both in-vitro and clinical outcomes research and supports undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate research training.

The ARL is located in the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences within the Detroit Medical Center in downtown Detroit, Michigan. Detroit Receiving Hospital and University Health Center, a 340-bed trauma hospital, and the affiliated DMC hospitals serve as the primary teaching sites for Wayne State University's School of Medicine, Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and the College of Nursing.
